The Don’t Borrow Trouble® Pima County is a program of Southwest Fair Housing Council. This non profit Campaign is the first comprehensive consumer awareness campaign of its kind.

Our Mission is to protect homeownership and family wealth by working to eliminate abusive financial practices, Increase awareness about Predatory Lending Practices, mortgage scams and focus on Foreclosure Prevention and Intervention through Education, Outreach and Referral to existing agencies that can help.

This campaign brings together an extensive public awareness campaign with existing resources to help the borrowers in our community avoid lending scams and resolve their financial difficulties in an informed and prudent manner.

By working together, we can eradicate the financial abusive and predatory lending practices that threaten to undermine our community.

The services of DBTPC are FREE to the community.

Cheri is a valuable resource to this program.  Cheri is certified by NCHEC (NeighborWorks) as a Certified Foreclosure Default Counselor has 9+ years experience working with homeowners and lenders and is an expert in foreclosure intervention and prevention.

Prior to joining Don’t Borrow Trouble®PC, Cheri spent many years in the mortgage industry in various management roles including Origination, Training, Fraud Investigation and Prevention.  Cheri has a Bachelors of Science in Business from the University of Arizona
